Review: Where does effective teaching begin?
In the Standards Based Planning Domain, there are three elements. Effective teaching starts with planning standards-based lessons, making sure teachers have the right resources. Next, teachers purposefully should plan to close the achievement gap for each student using appropriate data that focuses on the needs of every child in the classroom. An important point for this element is to ensure data is timely (not only the state assessment data). Ideally, data from the previous lesson should be used so teachers are looking at closing daily achievement gaps.
We believe that the most important thing a teacher or leader can do is to fuel each student’s passion for learning. When this is achieved, a lifetime of accomplishment becomes possible for that learner. Through partnerships with schools and districts throughout the country, we help educators and leadership transform each classroom into a powerful learning environment that prepares students for lasting success in school, the global workplace, and beyond. Our vision for the future is big and bright, and we love helping schools get there. Learn more about Learning Sciences International.
